Privacy policy
Short version: we ask for what we need to invite you to the right room, we keep it to ourselves, and you can have it removed at any time.
Who we are
European Builders is a community for builders, made for Europe and run from Amsterdam, founded by Rick Bossenbroek and Robbin Jansen. We are responsible for the personal data described here.
Legal entity: [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [ADDRESS], Chamber of Commerce number [KVK NUMBER].
Contact: rick@uncode.nl
What we collect
When you start your Blueprint on this site, you give us:
- your name and email address;
- the city you build in;
- what you are building, and a link to it if you add one;
- where you want to start: Events, Seasons or the Buildhouse;
- the moment you agreed to this policy, and which version.
We don't use cookies or trackers on this site. To see how many people visit, we use Simple Analytics, a privacy-first analytics tool based in the EU: it doesn't use cookies, doesn't collect personal data and doesn't follow you across sites. Our fonts are served from our own domain, so no third party sees your visit through them. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and time of request) for security.
Why we use it
- To reply to you and tell you where to start.
- To invite you to Build Nights and Build Cafés in Amsterdam, and in your city once we start there.
- To let you know when a Season opens, if you chose Seasons.
- To follow up on your application, if you chose the Buildhouse.
- To see, in totals only, how many builders join and where they are. The numbers on this site are counts; no names are shown.
The legal basis is your consent, which you give with the checkbox when you join. You can withdraw it at any time; that doesn't affect what we did before.
Who else sees it
We never sell your data and we never share attendee lists, emails or CVs with partners or sponsors. We use a few services to run the community, which process data on our behalf:
- Supabase, our database. Region: [CONFIRM SUPABASE REGION].
- Vercel, which hosts this website.
- Simple Analytics, cookieless visitor counts. No personal data.
- Luma, if you register for an event there. Luma has its own privacy policy for what you share with them.
Your details live in the same database as the Buildhouse community we grew out of (formerly DAY42), so if you were already on that list, we recognise you.
How long we keep it
As long as you're part of the community. If you ask us to remove your details, or we haven't heard from you in [RETENTION PERIOD, e.g. 24 months], we delete them.
Your rights
You can ask us to see, correct, export or delete your data, or to stop emailing you. Email rick@uncode.nl and we'll handle it within one month. If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to your data protection authority; in the Netherlands that's the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Changes
If we change this policy, we update the version and date at the top. If the change matters for how we use your data, we'll tell you by email.
